Natividade

Listed by the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage – IPHAN, the city of Natividade was founded in 1734 and has a rich history dating back to times when it was a village and from their land glittered the gold – precious metal that traced the fate of men and women, in colonial Brazil. Emerged from a cauldron in which mingled over the centuries the Portuguese settlers, cattle ranchers, slaves and northeastern immigrants, Natividade kept a very strong colonial legacy that survives to this day in celebrations as the Feasts of the Holy Spirit.
